Itineraries

Day 1 : Hanoi - Hai Phong - Halong - Lan Ha Bay

9h00: You will be collected from Hanoi Old Quarter (only for those who choose pick up service) to take the highway to Dinh Vu Port, Hai Phong where we arrive at around 11h30. You can take special tea at Orchid Cruise’s lounge by warm welcome.
12h00: Transfer by tender to the ORCHID CRUISE. On the way to the main boat, you will have a chance to see Cai Trap canal.
12h15: We welcome our guests onboard the ORCHID CRUISE and then check in, enjoy Welcome Drink, receive cruise briefing, safety instructions and check in. Start cruising and explore Halong Bay - one of the New Seven Wonders of Nature.
12h40: Your Halong Bay Cruise boat proceeds to Da Chong islet, where you can see a lighthouse built by the French over 100 years ago. We have lunch before continuing our journey via the islets of Con Vit and Gia Luan. These amazing limestone karst formations rise up out of the sea in an impressive manner. This area is untouched, as not many cruise ships use the route via the Cat Ba Island - Thoi Quyt area - Coc Ngoi islet - through Cua Van to Ba Trai Dao area.
14h45: We progress to Ba Trai Dao beach area of Lan Ha Bay a separate part of Halong Bay. This is a quiet tourist paradise in Vietnam. The region is known for its pristine beaches and spectacular beauty, having about 400 fascinating islands. Unlike the main, Halong Bay, the islands of Lan Ha Bay are forested, and most are small in stature.
15h00: We take you for a trip in the small coracles, used by fishermen for centuries. You will learn how they go about their trade, casting the nets, whilst navigating the waters in their tiny craft.
Alternatively, you may prefer to try your hand at kayaking or simply just enjoy a swim. This is a great experience, immersed in the crystal clear waters of the bay, in the Ba Trai Dao area (this program applies between the months of October and May)
From June to September, visiting Tra Bau area, belongs to Lan Ha Bay. Tra Bau is also one of the ideal destinations for kayaking and swimming. Come here, you will have a chance to immerse yourself in blue water.

17h45: Returning your Halong Bay Cruise boat you can watch the magnificent sunset over the Gulf of Tonkin. Onboard you may join a traditional cooking class. Our chef will instruct you in the making of some Vietnam dishes. In the early evening the boat has its Happy Hour deal
Option: Massage service available. Please book with Cruise Manager directly (please see massage menu)
19h30: Dinner is served. Enjoy delicious local food prepared and served for you by our wonderful onboard catering staff. This is a delightful meal in an intimate romantic setting
21h30: Enjoy the landscape of the bay at night up on the top deck. Relax whilst enjoying drinks from the bar. Try your hand at night squid fishing, watching a movie in the restaurant. Overnight on board.
Option: Massage service available. Please book with Cruise Manager directly (please see massage menu)
23h00: End of Day One program

Day 2 : Halong - Hanoi

06h00: Why not rise early to witness the bay at its very best whilst enjoying an invigorating Tai Chi session on the sundeck; after which we serve breakfast. Upon completing breakfast continue our journey and head out in canoes to explore the bay in the area where the Dark & Bright Cave is situated.
9h45: Visitors then return to your Halong Bay Cruise boat for check-out procedures
10h15: Whilst cruising back you can enjoy a delightful brunch
11h35: We return to the quay side in the south of the bay, where our visitors disembark.
12h10: We bid farewell at Dinh Vu port, this is the end of the program. We hope you have enjoyed your time with us and wish you a safe onward journey.
14h00: Back to your drop-off point in Hanoi. End of the trip

Halong Bay was definitely the highlight of our trip to Vietnam. And it was made even better with the 2 day 1 night cruise with Orchid Cruise. The boat was very clean, spacious and comfortable. Our room was incredible bigger than my own bedroom! There aren’t too many rooms so the setting is more intimate. The staff were amazing! Very attentive, fun & friendly. This cruise is a bit more than others we looked at but it was definitely worth it. All excursions were included, the food was delicious and there was just the right amount of activities and free time to enjoy everything. Also this cruise will take you a bit further away than the other cruises so it’s a bit quieter. Highly recommend the kayaking too!

We found the boat to be lovely and the scenery was amazing also. Photos cannot do it justice, you need to experience it. We really loved the boat. Our room was amazing, the food was excellent but most of the all, the staff were super attentive. Mr. T took very good care of us. Fun atmosphere and we liked the relaxed timings governing daily happy hour! Would definitely recommend this company to anyone looking to do a Halong Bay cruise. They did a great job of taking us to areas which felt secluded, in what is a very busy area for tourist cruises.

Orchid cruises were fantastic. The service was amazing. Only about 30 people on the boat so it’s very customised. It was our anniversary and at dinner they did a special acknowledgement for us.
