We booked the two night three day cruise at the end of September 2018. Most people only booked for the one night which is too short to really enjoy the scenery and activities such as kayaking, swimming and caving touring. There were a number of small groups on board from around the world on our cruise. At the first night dinner, a number of us got together and over a few drinks had a wonderful time swapping our holiday stories. We have made some wonderful new friends out of the cruise. Although the bay was a bit hazy on the first day due to burn offs in the area, by the second day most of the smoke had blown away. We had room 208 which is a deluxe suite with its own forward facing balcony. If you book this cruise (which I really recommend) - hang the expense and book this cabin. It absolutely is worth the extra money.

Took a 2 night cruise as part of a Hanoi trip for my wife, mother and partner. The optional transfer vehicle was on time and driven very safely - unusual for Vietnam as I know from many previous visits, so well worth the $25USD return fee per person. We had booked the 2 front rooms on the middle deck so forward facing with our own private balconies, which made it easy to enjoy our homemade 'sundowner' beverages each day. The best rooms for sure. The boat was excellent - very clean and staff extremely helpful and friendly. Food was good - some western and some local. Breakfast was a fine selection and enough for several re-visits. Sightseeing trips were good, although you needed to be sure footed with decent footwear for a couple of them. Lifejackets during all smaller boat transfers which was pleasing to see. Halong Bay is absolutely spectacular, even if it is a bit busy with the sea traffic. Pelican is one of the best providers out there. We will visit again and enjoy their hospitality. Thanks to the onboard team!!

The staff were able to accommodate dietary restrictions and the activities on and off board were a great inclusion. The room was immaculate and spacious with lovely views. I would definitely cruise again!

I unfortunately got sick the day we were supposed to go on the cruise, but the management was nice enough to let us move our booking. We used their pickup service from Hanoi and it was right on time and a comfortable ride. We arrived on the boat and our room was so great, everything clean and fresh. The crew was so very nice and helpful! We had a nice tour guide through the caves and other excursions. The food was great. The crew really made the trip special, Lucy was even nice enough to write down her favorite list of foods in the other cities we will be visiting. So great!
