Travel Phu Quoc Island Detail

Phu Quoc is the largest island in Vietnam located in the Gulf of Thailand. This is an island district under the administration of Kien Giang province in the southwest coast of Vietnam. Phu Quoc island district includes 22 islands, of which Phu Quoc island is the largest one with the area of 567 square kilometers stretching along the length of 49 kilometers. 

Phu Quoc is located in the zone of the tropical monsoon climate, the weather of this island is quite comfortable with only two distinct seasons which are dry season and rainy season. The dry season is affected by the northeast monsoon, so it is sunny and almost no rain. The temperature at that time is high, especially in April and May, it can reach 35 Celsius degree. On rainy season, the rain often comes to the island in the afternoon when the southwest monsoon brings the dark clouds to the island, the humidity is from 85-90%.

Phu Quoc is a jewel of Vietnam tourism, this island owns the beautiful tropical sunny beaches nestled in the lush coconut tree lines which recall the world’s famous tourist heaven of Maldives. This is the ideal place for activities of yachting, fishing, snorkeling, diving, exploring an uninhabited island. Moreover, there are 99 hills on the entire island covered by the primitive forests with the diverse flora and fauna. 

Besides that, Phu Quoc is a religious, cultural and historical site with many relics, revolutionary history, customs and habits of local people. The most highlight spot of this tourist form is Coconut Tree Prison or Phu Quoc prison which is the symbol of the heroism and unbroken spirit of Vietnamese people.
