Van Hanh pagoda is located at 39 Phu Dong Thien Vuong Street, Ward 8, Da Lat City, Lam Dong Province. Previously, Van Hanh Pagoda was erected to give local Buddhists a place to worship. In 1980, Venerable Thich Vien Thanh built Van Hanh pagoda with a total area of 2 hectares. In 1994, Venerable Thich Vien Thanh restored the main pagoda. Thanks to the skillful hands of artisans, Van Hanh Pagoda becomes a majestic and peaceful temple as it is now.
Today, Van Hanh pagoda is still being built and expanded many great Buddhist works to create more landscapes as a highlight in the pagoda grounds and attract a large number of tourists to visit the scene. The most unique and charismatic feature of Van Hanh pagoda is the statue of "Phat Thich Ca niem hoa vi tieu" 24m high, 20m wide, the right hand holding a lotus flower. This statue is classified into one of the largest Buddha statues in Vietnam.
Outside the Van Hanh pagoda at the foot of the Buddha statue is a view of a corner of Dalat's outskirts; standing here, you can see a part of the fields where farms of flowers are grown by farmers. It can be said to find a peaceful and quiet place in Dalat, nowhere else could be more wonderful than this place.
