Itineraries

Day 1

7:00am: Tour guide will meet you at the lobby of your hotel and after a short ride by comfortable minivan you will find yourself at Tan Cang Pier, where the adventure begins.

7:30am: You will board a modern and spacious speedboat and depart to the Cu Chi tunnels. When on board, enjoy a light breakfast of a Vietnamese sandwich Banh Mi with coffee or tea, while learning about a traditional way of life of the locals on the river and its banks.

8:45am: You will arrive to the Cu Chi Tunnels before the larger bus groups.

9:00am: Explore the Cu Chi site, which includes weapon and booby trap exhibitions, navigating authentic Viet Cong tunnel, visiting different underground bunkers (kitchens, meeting rooms, ammunitions etc.), a firing range and much more. Try the local cassava root that sustained Viet Cong fighters for years.

11:00am: When the Cu Chi tour is finished you will hop on Les Rives minivan and head to Cao Dai Temple.

12:00pm: Visit the Cao Dai Holy See Temple, a mixture of a few different religions, located in Tay Ninh province. Walk around the temple to see its marvelous and mysterious architecture and watch the noon mass.

Although the drive was long and the roads leading to the destination were a little bit rough, the visit to the Cao Dai Temple was simply worth it. The afternoon ceremony which we were able to witness was something I have never seen before. Also, the temple itself is really beautiful with its intricate architecture and the symbolism painted on the walls. It was such an awesome and somewhat surreal experience. As for the Cu Chi Tunnels, seeing the actual methods which the guerrilla fighters used in the war was also a great experience. It is definitely something visitors of the country should never miss. One point which this tour can improve on was the lunch which was included in the package.

Great learning experience. Tour guide was very knowledgeable about the vietnamese war. The temple was quite boring, only the sculptures were pretty. We also had to make 1 stop on the way to the temple where the tour guide showed us how the Vietnamese people do shell paintings. He said it was a “toilet stop” but i think its more of getting commission from tourists.

Temple visit was quite unique..it was timed nicely to witness the prayer ceremony. Colorful temple. Proceeded to Cu Chi tunnels after lunch. Our guide enlightened us about the battle strategies of the locals during the war. Going through the tunnels was a "scary" but fun experience...all had a good laugh too. Cu Chi tunnels is a must visit.

Very informative tour. Our tour guide surely knows a lot about the history and culture of Saigon. He is also very funny which makes the tour very lively and interactive. He also recommended some good spots to visit and good food to eat while still on the city. It was a very good experience overall.
